Keyflow: Private Events Feature

Self EmployedStockholm, Sweden (Remote)

Implemented the frontend for Keyflow Konnect private events and refactored the codebase for readability and reusability

Context

Keyflow was Scandinavia’s largest app for nightlife.

They needed immediate help to maintain the web frontend and implement new features.

I worked with them as a freelance frontend developer together with an Agile cross-functional team of 6 people.

Solution

My main contribution was to implement the frontend for Keyflow Konnect, a feature that allows users to create and view private events on the Keyflow website.

Recognizing technical debt, I proactively refactored the codebase to improve it. I removed jQuery from React, refactored repeated code to reusable components, and removed dead code.

Reflections

I enjoyed the company’s lively atmosphere and was looking forward to joining them full-time in Stockholm. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen due to the COVID pandemic, as all nightlife was closed down and the company lost its investors.
